All applicants who wish to begin their studies at the University of Music Wuerzburg in the winter semester 2011/2012 will enter the Bachelor of Music degree programme. In the framework of this degree programme, students choose a field of study (for instance, orchestral instruments - performance), a specialisation (for example, strings), and within the specialisation a principal instrument (such as violin).

Those students who wish to transfer from another university of music (and are in at least their fifth semester) will be placed in one of the current diploma degree programmes in performance or instrumental pedagogy [Diplommusiker/in, Diplommusiklehrer/in].

Starting with the winter semester 2011/2012 a variety of master programmes will be offered.
