Those wishing to begin their studies at the University of Music, Wuerzburg, starting in the winter semester 2011/2012, must complete an entrance examination. Prospective students take the entrance examination for the Bachelor of Music, the teaching certification in music, or the pre-college programme. Those who have already completed the appropriate/relevant courses of study equivalent to 4 semesters in their area of study (and could thus transfer into at least the 5th semester) can apply for the Diploma programme. Applicants who have already completed an appropriate course of study at another university of music take the entrance examination for a master's programme, for a still existent post-graduate programme, or for a masterclass. The mark on the entrance examination determines if the applicant will be accepted into the post-graduate studies programme or into a higher semester in the Diplom programme.
Further extensive information about the entrance examinations (Eignungsprüfung) can be found under the following link: entrance examinations.
You are considered a foreign national if you have a German Abitur (or the Swiss or Austrian equivalent) from a German-speaking country in Europe or if you have completed a degree (using the German language) from another German-speaking university in Europe. Applicants for the master's programme should include a cover letter explaining why they are applying to the programme and what their goals are.
Upon enrolment, the above mentioned documents must be presented in their original form or as notarized copies.
To save time and effort, please do not send folder covers along with the application.
