The teacher, Waldemar Lietfien (1990-1991), received violin lessons tuition-free at the State Convservatory in Wuerzburg in the 1920's. Shortly before his death he bequeathed his collection of string instuments to the University of Music, Würzburg. At his request, these instruments are lent to talented students.

Hertha Stegmann †

Hertha Stegmann's husband, Richard Stegmann (1891-1982), taught trumpet at the State Conservatory and published several student works for brass instruments. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Stegmann gave the University of Music, Wuerzburg all proceeds from the sale of the publication rights.
