Degree Programmes

The University of Music, Würzburg offers you several opportunities to expand your musical capabilities and pursue various professional possibilities.

Starting in the winter semester 2010/2011 the Bachelor (BA) will become the first academic degree that a student at the University can acquire. The BA enables students to enter the professional world, to continue with a Master's degree (also at another university or in another field), or, in exceptional cases, to enter directly the doctoral programme. At the University the BA will be offered in 21 fields of study which focus either on performance alone or performance and education.

Because the Master of Art's degree in music will  not be offered until the winter semester 2011/2012, it is still possible to submit applications for the traditional post-graduate studies (i.e., continuing education and master classes). The completion of a degree in performance is a prerequisite for these classes.
