Bologna Process
The reform at the University of Music Würzburg
The core of this reform is the introduction of Bachelor and Master courses with a framework of various modules. Transparency, flexible organisation of study courses and the possibiliy to change between German and Non-German Universities are the main aims of this reform.
The Bavarian Universities of Music will award a "Bachelor of Music" covering a variety of former German diplomas.
Master courses can be attented either after a certain experience within a occupational field or directly after receiving a Bachelor.
According to the Bavarian Higher Education Act (BayHSchG) Bachelor and Master should be introduced by 2009/2010. At the University of Music Würzburg the Bachelor of Music will in all likelihood be introduced in Winter 2010/11.
Further information to the "Bologna process" at European music universities can be found here. (AEC).
