The Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition is organized by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation in cooperation with the Rectors' Conference of the German Universities of Music (RKM) and the Berlin University of the Arts.
Patron of the competition is Andris Nelsons (Gewandhaus Kapellmeister in Leipzig). The artistic direction is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Sebastian Nordmann (Intendant Konzerthaus Berlin).
The next competition will take place from 15 to 19 January 2020 at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Conditions of participation and information on the required repertoire:
Previous 1st prize winners in the FMB competition are excluded from renewed participation in this subject. All prizewinners of the main competition are obliged to perform at the corresponding prizewinner concert in Berlin. All nominees for the preliminary decision are also obliged to take part in the general prize winner concert of the University of Music Würzburg on Thursday, December 12, 2019 (save the date!).
