Alexander Fleischer was awarded prizes at international competitions at an early stage, including. Lied Accompanist Prize at "Das Lied" International Song Competition Berlin 2009. 2nd Prize at the International Hugo Wolf Competition for Lied Art Stuttgart. He has performed at the lucerne festival, Musikverein Vienna, Liedrezital Zurich, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Philharmonie Cologne, Styriarte Festival, Musikfestival "Heidelberger Frühling", Konzerthaus Berlin, festspillene i bergen, Festival RheinVokal, Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona and others.

He works with singers such as Bo Skovhus,Roman Trekel, Thomas Quasthoff, Anna Alas, Manuel Walser, Andreas Wolf, Jochen Kupfer, Daniela Sindram, Tobias Berndt, and others.

At the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin, Alexander Fleischer holds a guest lectureship and has been working as an assistant to KS Prof. Thomas Quasthoff since 2011. In April 2015 he also received a lectureship for Lied composition at the HfM Würzburg. In 2017 he was a lecturer at the renowned Britten-Pears-Festival in Aldeburgh (UK).

Since 2017 he is the artistic director of the "Hirschberger Liedfest". In 2019 he founded the festival "Lied in Würzburg".

His first highly acclaimed CD with Goethe settings by Fanny Hensel with baritone Tobias Berndt was released by the label querstand, in 2019 the CD "Legacy" with Catalan-Spanish repertoire was released by "Seedmusic" with mezzo-soprano Anna Alàs i Jové.
