Munich-based percussionist, composer and university lecturer Bastian Jütte began his musical career at the music academies in Munich and Mannheim.

He can now be heard on over 90 CD recordings. As a bandleader and composer, he writes for his quartet, his project "Point of no Return" and also repeatedly contributes compositions and arrangements to other projects. He is a member of numerous formations and has worked with musicians such as Seamus Blake, David Binney, Rick Margitza, Vincent Herring, Maria Schneider, Nguyên Lê, Don Friedman, Ack von Rooyen, Michael Wollny, Johannes Enders, Adrian Mears, Frank Möbus, Klaus Doldinger, Jiggs Wiggham, the SWR and the HR Big Band.

During his career he has played at international festivals such as Jazzfestival Aalen, Northsea Jazz Festival (NL), La Villette Paris (FR), Yokohama Jazzpromenade (JP), Jazz Bal:ca, Musica Viva Festival Munich, Münchner Klaviersommer, Montreux Jazz Fes:val (CH), Jazzlines Munich, Elbjazz Festival, Jazztage Dresden, Leipziger Jazztage, Jazz an der Donau, Theaterhausfestival Stuttgart, Palatia, Wiesen (AT), Rheingau Musikfestival, Ingolstädter Jazztage, Outreach (AT), Jazzfestival Würzburg, Erdinger Jazztage, Jazzfestival Ibiza (ES), New German Jazz Award, Jazzahead, Serambi Jazzfestival (ID), Jazzralley Düsseldorf, Kemptener Jazzfrühling, Bingen Swingt, Nisville Jazz Festival (RS), ...

He has already received numerous awards, including:

  • 1st place at the New German Jazz Award with the Bastian Jütte Quartet.
  • ECHO Jazz as Drummer of the Year national 2013.
  • 1st place at the New German Jazz Award with the Tim Allhoff Trio.

Since 2011 Bastian Jütte teaches jazz drums at the Musikhochschule Würzburg.
